SPORTS & RECREATION:

Physical fitness is of great importance. To encourage this and team sprit our school provides the following sports: Football, Cricket, Athletics, Basketball, Volley ball, Throw ball and Badminton, Horse Riding, Swimming etc. Indoor games such as Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess are also played.

ACTIVITIES:

DPS Numaligarh offers a great number of hobbies, clubs and other activities such as Dramatics, Art Craft, Music (Vocal & Instrumental), Yoga, Gardening, Creative Writing, Quizzing and Public Speaking etc. All students have to choose two of these activities, which are done during two hours a week set aside for this purpose. In addition of this we have a session of community service for the students of class 5 and above to create an awareness of the need of the community outside and to bring about a sense of caring for those not so well – of.  Please Note:

1-Organizing of all sports and games event will be the responsibility of entire sports department only and proper records & documents need to be maintained for annual performance audit by the sports committee.

2- All events will be notified through circular in parents WA group and school assembly only. No entries will be entertained after the deadline fixed and announced.

 Various Levels:  Primary: I-III     Sub Jr: IV-V       Junior VI-VIII     Senior: IX-XII

Important Guidelines:

• All competition will be conducted at two levels, one at class/section level and other at House level depending on the level of competition.
• In case of intra class mode each section class teacher will screen four best/required number with the help of respective PT teacher during regular PT period and then semifinal or final will be play depending on the event.
• In case of inter house mode each house in charge will screen four best/ required number with the help of PT teachers of that level of students during regular house periods and then semifinal or final will be play depending on the event.
• In case of sports day celebration or school representation in CBSE Cluster/DPSS/State/National only selected students of house will be eligible for the final selection of team members in a particular sports/event etc.
• CBSE registration slip for a particular team to be submitted to Mr. Kulamani Das as soon as particular inter house tournament is concluded.
• At all levels name of list with proper spellings to be provided to the concerned in-charge in written format only with signature of class teacher or House Master within specified deadline. All circulars for the conduction of sports/events to be signed by all teachers of sports department, Mr Kulamani Das and Principal with date deadlines only.
• Any child representing school at any sports events which is scheduled by the school and misses any PT/HYL/Project/Practical (Except Boards related and any annual assessment) will be given retest option/equivalent marks as per the norms.
• School representation in outside tournament will be finalized by sports committee only with core criteria of team performance in internal events if need by expert advice may be taken from external coach.
